Welcome to Filipino Dishes

Welcome to my Filipino dishes website/blog! I’ve learned about Filipino foods when I worked in the Philippines for approximately 4 years. I was so impressed with the taste of the Filipino Dishes which made me decide to write a website/blog about it. Through the years I’ve tasted and made some well-known Filipino recipes myself and created website names like filipino-dishes.org and filipino-recipes.com where I’ve posted about the Filipino Recipes. I’ve decided though to maintain only one name and focus on one website instead of many. Most of the recipes shown on Filipino dishes are cooked by me and some have been submitted by bloggers from the mentioned websites. I’ve transferred all the submitted Filipino Dishes from the old sites manually to filipinodishes.org. Therefore, you might see some copyright materials on images from filipino-dishes.org. The website filipino-dishes.org will also redirect to filipinodishes.org, so I’ll only have one website to maintain.
So, back to Filipino Dishes and Filipino Recipes! It is a known fact that most Filipino recipes have rich Spanish influences due to the country being a hub of Spain’s political, economic, and religious agenda for a great three hundred thirty-three years. That was a mouthful but definitely true! If you set foot on Philippine soil, from the moment you get off the airplane to your hotel room, you will encounter signs or imprints of the colonization that has largely contributed to the people and their culture and ushered it to where it is now: a country of fiesta-loving, mixed-colored foodies with the tendency to captivate your heart with their famous Filipino hospitality and warmth. And that is so absolutely true! And speaking of food and Filipino cooking, what is better than writing a homage to their delicious cooking and recipes so we can pass it on to generations to come? I am well aware there had been great articles written out there about Filipino cooking and culture, but I still prefer to share my own personal experience when it comes to anything Filipino. I have been terribly smitten by the food and culture that I decided to create an interactive blog site that features every Filipino dish I have personally cooked, eaten, and shared with my own family. I bet that most foreign nationals who have visited the Philippines had also felt the same way, and who knows that they are just trying to hide their feelings by marrying into a Filipino household. Who knows, right?
Please consider registering to my website/blog and submit Filipino Dishes that are not listed yet, so I can cook the Filipino Dishes the way you direct me to do. You might have noticed that I’m not a Filipino citizen, nor are any of my relatives Filipino. I’ve learned the Filipino language over the years and will challenge you to submit Filipino Dishes / Filipino Recipes that I will cook in Tagalog like the video below.
