Directions
Tortang giniling is a popular Filipino dish made from ground meat (usually pork or beef) that is mixed with onions, garlic, and various spices, and then combined with beaten eggs before being pan-fried. The resulting omelette-like dish is hearty and flavorful, and can be enjoyed as a breakfast food, a main dish for lunch or dinner, or as a snack.
To prepare tortang giniling, ground meat is sautéed with onions and garlic until cooked through. Other ingredients such as diced potatoes, carrots, and bell peppers can also be added for additional flavor and texture. The cooked meat mixture is then combined with beaten eggs, which help bind the mixture together, and the entire mixture is then fried until golden brown on both sides.
Tortang giniling is often served with steamed rice and a side of ketchup, which adds a tangy and sweet flavor that complements the dish. It can also be enjoyed with other condiments such as soy sauce, vinegar, or hot sauce, depending on personal preference.
The dish is a popular comfort food in the Philippines, and can be found in many Filipino households and restaurants. It is often served at gatherings and parties, and is a favorite among both children and adults for its savory taste and satisfying texture.
Start to saute the garlic until it is medium brown.
Add the minced onions and potatoes.
Add the ground pork after the potatoes are half cooked.
You may add some salt and pepper to taste and wait until the pink of the meat if gone and the ground pork is tender.
Put the mixture aside and let it cool down.
Then add the the beaten eggs to the ground pork mixture and mix all ingredients together.
Pour the mixture into a pan and fry it until the color of the egg is golden brown on both sides.
Serve warm with a sauce like ketchup.
